A blank daruma doll base, imported from Japan, has been transformed into a unique daruma! With the traditional eyebrows and whiskers, giving an adorable angry expression. This is an authentic daruma as the base was made in Japan - from a paper-mache type material. The paints used to bring the daruma to life include acrylic gouache and acrylic paints. A glossy epoxy spray was then used as a protective coating for the daruma, and to mimic the glossiness of standard red daruma.
